France,
Bordeaux,
Red wine with a quite pretty mature colour here. There is nothing blue or purple or young in this one. It is a rather medium deep ruby with a slightly more tawny rim. The nose is of course also showing a certain amount of maturity here. Quite complex and spicy. I get hints of leather, tobacco. The fruit is more towards the dried fruit side, with some notes of plum, prune, red berry fruit. Also when I talk about spicy, like that slightly woody, spice box character. So a quite classic style. Palate is classically dry. It is rather an elegant style of wine here. We have a good grip on the palate. It is quite mouth filling. I think in terms of extract, the tannins are rounded, but we still feel there is a good grip in there. It is persistent on the palate, it keeps lingering. On the aftertaste, it offers flavours of those dried fruit notes, leather, tobacco leaf, fine wood. So a classic style of wine. Elegant and not really any presence of new oak, more on the fruity, spicy side. So an elegant wine for an elegant meal.
