France,
Sud Ouest,
Very intense colour here, this is almost black, almost opaque. Really covering the glass, looking really young. Pure nose with a high degree of ripeness. This is clearly speaking about that inky colour. I would talk about inky dark fruit as well such as cassis, blueberries, blackberries. Really pure and fruity, there is really no hint of oak. Just a lot of ripe fruit. There is a good intensity, but it still appears youthful, without any aged aromas. Very high concentration on the palate, dense core of dark fruit. I feel this is a wine that is just about to open up. I still get those lovely nuances of inky, dark fruit all of those crushed dark berries. There is a fine herbal spiciness in the background, like sage, mint. Once again no evident oak. There is a good level of acidity as well so it appears quite massive, but I think it actually has a good drinkability. With finely grained tannins. Very long after taste, persistent and lingering. Very nice wine. I would say it is pretty drinkable today. I would pour it in a decanter for twenty minutes and with a huge piece of cote de beauf it really should do the job well. But it will doubtlessly develop for ten, fifteen or twenty more years, for whoever has that patience.
