France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very intense colour here almost opaque core. Fine nose here, displaying high level of ripeness. Lushes dark fruit, with hints of dark plum, blackberry, dark cherry, everything kind of dark. Still with a good purity of fruit and sensation of freshness. Really like freshly crushed berries. A mild spiciness, like pepper and clove. No noticeable oak. Attractive palate gives you a lot of pleasure. I would call it full-bodied. It is still youthful but I think it is a nice modern wine making. The tannins are nicely rounded, but there is a lot of them that gives you a good grip and sensation of freshness on the palate. There might be a slight touch of oak. I feel it more on the taste but it is quite nicely integrated. With this massive fruit, you do not really think about it. Really nice and lingering finish, long persistence. Plenty of things going on, on the finish with those spicy notes emerging. Peppery notes, dark fruit, slight hint of meatiness as well. I like this very much because it is a wine that I think that this is a wine with an immediate charm, juiciness and drinkability. However, it does have the structure to be aged for many more years in a good cellar and it should develop more complexity and layers with age.
