France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Youthful appearance here with a dark purple core, slightly ruby on the rim. Very spicy expression, there is allspice and clove, almost like cinnamon on the nose. In terms of fruit, it is really ripe rather dark berries, with dark cherries, cassis, plum but no evident oak. Nice palate here. There is good weight, but rather loose texture. Tannins are nicely rounded. There is still plenty of them though, in the background, adding a good bite and contributing to the length. A really nice and juicy dark fruit. Well preserved acidity as well. Adding a lot of freshness to the palate. Really persistent flavours of those dark fruits; plum and cherry. Excellent spiciness and well-rounded texture. I think this is perfect drinkability today. Despite its youth it has the structure to go on for a few years and develop more complexity, but I would happily indulge already today.
