Château Rouquette Sur Mer – Cuvée Henry Lapierre – 2013

France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Medium to deep colour ruby-red core, but nothing blue or purple, so a certain evolution I suspect. Very attractive nose. Plenty of fruit, combination of dark and red berries, with blackcurrant and raspberry. With a mild spiciness such as white pepper, vanilla and clove. Very discreet oak in the background. Quite lushes palate with good weight. Mellow texture there is tannic presence but they are well-rounded, well integrated. Rather an expression of fruit. Again a fine combination of, you feel good sunshine, good ripeness. There is a certain meatiness and a long lingering finish, with sweet fruit such as blackberry, raspberry with those spicy notes. Long finish. Well-built wine with the potential to go on for quite a few years. I find the drinkability and juiciness in this one pretty exciting already today.
