France,
Bordeaux,
Red wine with a medium deep intensity, slight evolution on the rim towards tawny. Quite intense nose, certainly aged, far from primary fruit here, with some notes of leather, spice, sweet fruit; also some herbal notes, a hint of green pepper. On the palate I would say it’s a quite traditional style, with medium weight, pronounced tannin. An example where the tannins are just about to get around now, soften and integrating. Good level of freshness here, combining those red and dark berries, some cassis notes with leather, that green herbal spiciness. Quite long finish, still a bit restrained on the aftertaste; certainly a traditional style that would benefit from long aging. I would personally put it back in my cellar for another few years.
