Dark ruby colour with a purple hue. Intense nose with red and dark fruit with blackberry, raspberry, clove, ginger, some new oak and roasted notes. The palate is dense and weighty, rather structured for the variety with a tannic backbone and a tannic presence, ripe and warm, darker fruit character, pepper and dry spices, some alcohol on the finish, a bit youthful and unresolved but should develop well.
