This is a spirit with a quite deep golden nuance. Rather intense nose, this is starting to display a certain maturity. There is obviously sugar cane and molasses there. But I think a bit more complexity and ripeness from aging in oak. In terms of spices; almond, hazelnut and obviously some wood and vanilla. Good bite on the palate here. There is a fine integration of alcohol, not too obvious. There is still some wood on the palate, but fine wood more like cedar wood. Some hints of tobacco there and a lot of chopped hazelnuts, with those sugar cane notes on the finish. Rather long, persistent, and a certain level of complexity. I would say that this is a classic style of rum de alcohol. I could easily enjoy this on its own as a digest, but it would also make a good ingredient for a finer style of cocktails or drinks.
