Switzerland,
Vaud,
Quite dark core here, ruby with a slightly lighter rim, but still with some notes of purple. Quite discreet nose at first, still a little bit marked by wood, showing off cedar wood, almond, with sweet plum notes. Palate is quite full, rather dense core, but slightly looser texture here, not a lot of tannin on the palate; they’re already fairly well distributed in the wine. Still has a youthful acidity. Fruit character is rather on the sweet plummy side, but with some notes of crushed berries as well, discreet spiciness, not so much oak evident on the palate. On the finish we get some notes of ground pepper, mild spices. Medium towards long. Still a bit youthful and unresolved, not giving away too much, so it’s definitely a wine that would open up during the next 2-3 years; but nicely-made result anyway.
