Spain,
Catalunya,
Red wine with medium, deep, ruby-red colour, it is still youthful with a hint of blue-purple in there. Very intense nose, some floral notes like violet, then mostly dark fruit like dark cherry, plum, cassis and with a hint of oak in the background. Really full-bodied here, there is plenty of weight. There is a quiet fine extract in the background, rather grainy powdered tannins, a hint of coco bean, then we have that sweet, rather ample dark fruit, with some hints of plum. Really feels like a warm climate style. Ripe, but not over ripe in any way. It is balanced by a nice level of freshness. Good length as well, some spicy notes on the finish. A wine I find nicely enjoyable today for its opulent fruit, however a wine that will develop far more complexity from some further ageing.
