Portugal,
Alentejano,
Dark and inky colour, youthful appearance, dark ruby-red. Pure nose, fruit driven, with dark fruity aromas. Dark cherry, plum, some floral notes. Gentle hint of oak. Good bite on the palate. Fairly high concentration, but good extraction. There is a quite high degree of tannin, but fairly ripe and integrated. On the palate it offers juicy dark fruit, with flavours of dark plum, cherry, there are some spicy notes of wild herbs, liquorice. The oak is quite discreet and integrated as well. It offers a long finish, with plenty of ripe fruit. Just a hint of vanilla, pepper, liquorice on the finish. So a fine wine with ripe fruit that is well-made. Drinks pretty well today and should over the coming four or five years will continue to develop quite nicely.
