France,
Sud Ouest,
Youthful red wine here, or rather black wine, very inky, dark core with a blue-purple hue. Still youthful on the nose, but quite multi- layered here with a plethora of dark fruit; plum, blackberry, cassis notes, slight hint of leather, some wood and vanilla. The palate has a high concentration, mostly fruit driven with a concentration of dark fruit; like freshly crushed black currants and blackberries. The tannins are quite subtle, I must say. They still add some freshness, but they are quite grainy, well integrated there. Just a slight hint of oak in the background; some notes of sweet spices like clove, some pepper. Also nicely underlined by a fresh acidity, giving a lift to that dark and ripe fruit. Good length, it certainly keeps lingering there with juicy, dark fruit and a slight tannic sensation on the finish. A wine which has excellent potential, but I would still say this will develop much more complexity and harmony over the coming years, but it is certainly good material.
