Italy,
Veneto,
The colour is developed, suggesting some evolution. Medium deep ruby-red, but the rim is rather tawny. The nose is suggesting some sweetness. It offers hints of dried fruit, rather like dried cherry, prune. A hint of meatiness as well, leather and dried spices. The palate has a certain sweetness to it. Offering again those sweet dried fruits such as prune, dates, figs. However, the finish ends up rather close to dry. So there is obviously a very ripe fruit or something in that direction. There is a slight spiciness there with leather, like sweet pepper, clove, candied orange peel. Quite rounded wine, with a certain complexity. I would say quite a traditional style as we have some of those gamey and leathery notes as well. This is a wine ready to drink and it should probably be drunk today.
