Italy,
Friuli Venezia Giulia,
Youthful colour, still with a slightly purple core and a lighter ruby rim. Good purity on the nose. Very fresh. Combining red and dark berries, freshly crushed berries, with dark plum, a slight hint of spiciness like pepper, anise seed. On the palate, it offers quite sweet fruit. It gives the sensation of sweetness at first. But on the finish, it is still classically dry. I think this is vinified in a very soft and subtle style. You do feel quite a lot of tannin in the background but they are quite integrated and polished in this case. It starts out with this wealth of dark plum, dark berries. On the mid-palate, there is more of a slightly herbal going on like sage and mint. Some pepperiness on the finish. Good length as well. Still a youthful wine but it certainly offers a lot of pleasure for the young and vibrant fruit today and it should develop quite well.
