Domaine Billaud Simon – Montée de Tonnerre – 2009

Pale and limpid yellow; I love the nose; firm, mineral and restrained with roasted nuts, a gentle smokiness and lemon confiture jam; good bite on the palate, really persistent, freshness backed up by ripe fruit, one feels a hint of oak on the palate, very long finish, elegant fruit - still rather youthful, but a highly potent wine.
