France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Dark inky core, slightly lighter towards the rim. The nose offers some smoky aromas, there’s a hint of wood there, a nice mix of red and dark berries; some herbal notes there too, mint, bay leaf. The palate falls in the medium-bodied register, somewhere; it’s still quite youthful and unresolved, in terms of tannins, I feel a good bite of tannin on the palate. The oak is well-settled, and the fruit is towards dried berries, dried plum; but also with some sour red berries like red currants, cranberries. We’ll call this medium-bodied, fresh, still a bit youthful and I think in terms of the tannins and the dry extract this is a wine that should get a little bit more of evolution to gain that roundness; otherwise it has a good freshness and a medium long finish.
