France,
Loire Valley,
Bright with a light golden colour. Intense nose, quite expressive. This is almost reminiscent of a sweet wine. So a touch of over-ripeness, not in a negative way but rather what comes from botrytis. Such as saffron, honey, with yellow fruit, almond paste. The palate, however, is bone dry, with a fresh acidity and very youthful and vital. A bit less expressive on the palate than on nose right now. Should have some more time to develop. None of the less it has a good structure. A bit more than medium weight. With a quite persistent finish. It flirts with sweetness but it remains really bone dry. Some of that honeyed candied fruit is there on the palate. It keeps lingering on the palate. No noticeable oak, just a nice expression of ripe fruit, but within that bone-dry and fresh frame. So a nice example.
