France,
Rhone Valley,
Medium bodied ruby core, some evolution on the rim. Medium intense nose, I would say quite traditional style; there’s some meaty and leathery notes there. Spice box, quite sweet fruit, red berry jam, plum. Medium weight on the palate, fresh acidity, still youthful, quite present tannin. There’s some notes as well of herbal spiciness like garrigue. Right now the tannins give a slight astringency, not too much but you still feel it’s a rather youthful wine, the fruit has high ripeness. It’s discreetly round and juicy at the stage. No evident oak. Warm, ripe, it probably has at least 14° of alcohol here, but I think it’s well integrated, it has a good degree of freshness on the finish. Rather long opulent finish, with that spicy ripe fruit.
