Domaine du Montet – La Jouvence Merlot Blanc de Noir – 2013

Rather youthful colour, pale straw with a slight tint of almost copper. Generous nose, displaying youthful fruit. There’s some herbal notes in here, fresh herbs, yellow plum. There might be a slight hint of oak, not very obvious but a slight touch of vanilla. Medium weight on the palate, fresh acidity. The oak is more obvious on the palate, some slightly roasted notes. Fresh acidity; there’s also a slight hint of phenolic. Very gentle tannins that also add freshness, something I find interesting in white wines. Harmonious, with youthful crispy fruit. Well balanced, with a medium towards long finish.
