France,
Rhone Valley,
Red wine with a quite dense, youthful, ruby-purple colour, high viscosity. Medium intense nose, some butterscotch, vanilla. Rather dark fruity character, dark cherry, plum, some leather. Full-bodied palate, quite unctuous and warm. There’s still a youthful freshness to it, we feel the acidity and the tannin are doing a good job there giving a good lift to the otherwise rather ripe and opulent fruit. Good length, quite powerful. Alcohol is high but still in balance. I find the finish to be a bit on the tannic side. I would put it for another year in the cellar to soften a bit and round off the edges. Very nice result in this Grenache style with very ripe sweet fruit, with a good length, very persistent on the palate.
