France,
Loire Valley,
Colour is quite pale and straw colour with a fine brightness. Good purity on the nose. This is obviously Sauvignon, but it feels like it has gotten a good degree of ripeness. Of course, there is a slight herbal presence there, with lemon and lime. I think it is slightly riper so it is more towards the yellow fruit than the green fruit. Still with a well-preserved minerality and excellent purity. Very fine palate here. It keeps within that bone-dry frame. The fruit again is quite lushes, I mean I think for the style. So Sauvignon but with good ripeness, more barely ripe stone fruit, pear. Good presence of minerality on the palate. Medium weight but really nice length. There might be a slight hint of oak. I do not think that is too common for this style, but it has gotten a certain degree of roundness. I think something a bit nutty, could indicate some very discreet ageing in oak. Nice lingering finish. A very gastronomic style, that shows itself really well today.
