France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Intense young colour, very dark inky core, some blue-purple hints. Very modern nose, ambitious winemaking with very little new oak. Vanilla, roasted notes, chocolate and dark fruit, peppery plum. Rich and warm palate, high concentration of fruit, there’s some amount of chocolate coming from the roasted wood, some vanilla. Very warm, quite high ripeness; we feel quite elevated alcohol here, sweet fruity character. Rich and unctuous texture with those sweet fruity notes coming back on the finish. Keeps lingering, this has a long finish, but it’s still very youthful, I find this is a wine that should thanks to its concentration obviously develop really well, but it still feels a bit young, I would put it back in the cellar for one or two years and then see how it will turn out.
