France,
Burgundy,
Youthful colour, medium deep ruby-red, with a slightly purple tinge. Wonderful purity on the nose. This is displaying quite dark, fruity character; with blackberry, wild raspberry, some violet, some floral notes. There is a clear mineral presence there, some earthy notes like ginger, some liquorice roots. Really fine hint of oak. With a really excellent purity. Really tempting and inviting. Lovely palate. I must confess after tasting a lot of other categories, getting to this reminds me why I love Burgundy. Very silky, very delicate. It is a youthful wine but there is still a sexiness here. I love the fine spiciness of white pepper, clove, ginger. With ripe wild berries. Very fine oak treatment, already polished and round and smooth. Long lingering finish. With really delicate fruit. I cannot do anything other than say, this is bloody good.
