Grand Cru Kitterlé

France,
Alsace,
Really bright appearance there with a light golden colour indicating a certain evolution. The nose confirms that as well. It has a few years to it. I like the nose it showing some complexity already. Obliviously it is a great Riesling with some mineral hints. I think some of that elusion is evident in the shape of smoke, yeah fine smokiness and then layers of stone fruit, like peach, yellow plum, apricot. But still with a clear mineral presence for sure. Good grip on the palate. Despite the nose being quite opulent and showing sides of tropical hints. Palate is bone-dry with an excellent freshness. Really high concentration and density. Certainly a big wine here, if we talk about structure. Long lasting and persistent. I like very much because you get those lush yellow fruits on the mid-palate. The finish which is really persistent is really more about freshness and minerality. Yeah finally, a beautiful wine with a good deal of complexity. I think the combination of lushness and that firm salivating acidity is a great virtue of what Riesling can do. The only thing I miss right now is a small sauté of sweet breads, with morels and cream or something like that.
