Italy,
Veneto,
Developed colour here, with ruby-orange rim. Dense core, but nothing blue or purple, so it indicates some age. The nose is suggesting some development as well. There is a hint of complexity here with dried fruit, a lot of spices, sweet tobacco. Then dried cherry and prune, also with a slight gamey, leathery spiciness. Quite full palate here, with a soft texture, slight hint of sweetness. Rounded, with dark fruitiness, dried fruit and again prune, dark cherry. Some leather, a hint of sugar or caramel almost like molasses. Slight hint of roasted oak, and a medium towards long finish. Probably enjoyable for its sweetness and opulence, with a slight traditional rustic charm in terms of that leather and the spice.
