Hungary,
Szekszard,
Red wine with a very deep core here, high concentration of colour, black purple centre; still looks very young. Aromatically it’ also on the young side, with some present oak. There’s a hint of spiciness here; black pepper, clove, vanilla, a hint of wood. The palate is dense, good density of fruit here; ripe dark fruit in this case, blackcurrant, dark plum, spiced up with some of that pepper, vanilla, cardamom. I think the oak is not too noticeable as well; you feel a slight hint in the background. I think the proportions are there, nice acidity, dense fruit, quite good length; it just today feels still a bit young and raw. I think it would gain some more aromatic complexity and roundness from another one to two years in the cellar, then it certainly has the potential to go on for much longer than that. A well-made wine with a lot of character, just youthful today.
