Cafayate Valley

Argentina,
Cafayate Valley,
Colour has medium-high intensity. Medium to deep ruby-red. The nose is slightly floral, displaying mostly red fruit like red currant, plum, some sweet berries. Then there are some herbal notes as well, like bouquet garni. Some floral notes. Palate is quite dense. High concentration. With high extract, appearing slightly tannic at present. So quite ridged tannin. Slightly austere mouthfeel. Backed up by rather sweet red fruit. Some hints of cherry jam, with red currant and some of that herbal spiciness on the finish as well. Fairly long, but in my mind appearing a bit dry and austere now. I think those tannins really need a few more years of cellaring.
