France,
Champagne,
A sparkling wine, with quite fine bubbles. Bright, with a medium deep straw colour, appearing fairly young. At first the nose is showing some buttery aromas; like fresh butter, some creamy notes, a hint of the lees, more on the citrus, and just-about-ripe fruits. Palate is more on the light bodied side, quite marked acidity here, very high acidity actually. More the on, I would say, extra brut style. Quite austere in terms of texture. So, more like lemon, just-about-ripe green apple, some hints of grapefruit, some zesty notes, light with a marked acidity. Medium towards long finish. In my mind it is still feels like a very young example. Perhaps I would like to age this for a little more, or to enjoy it for its freshness as a more aperitif style.
