Italy,
Piedmont,
Light to medium colour intensity here. Very developed colour, nothing red left in here, rather a tawny orange with a much lighter rim. The nose has development, maturity and a hint of complexity. Mostly with dried fruity aromas, dried cherry, some dried tomato. Spicy notes, with some nuttiness, nougat and chocolate. Absolutely no new oak, but still some woody hints in the shape of cedar wood, tobacco. The palate is still quite youthful, with tight texture. Still with a tannic presence. I would say this is a bit above medium weight. With a lot of extracts, in terms of the tannin. It does have a fresh acidity. With attractive fruit. I think you get more juiciness on the palate like red fruit, with some of those dried cherry notes, bitter chocolate. It does have a good freshness. And it is a really long and lingering finish. With a lot of spiciness going on. Anise seed, liquorice on the finish. Still, however a bit young, a wine I would prefer to give a through decantation or put it back in the cellar for one to two years just for the tannin to soften a little bit more. None the less a complex wine with a fine potential.
