France,
Beaujolais,
Medium-deep colour, still transparent with dark ruby-red nuance, slight hint of purple. Ripe nose, good purity here, some floral notes, hints of violet with sweet dark plum. Almost like jammed plum or jammed dark berries like blackberry. Mild spiciness and a certain hint of minerality. Good grip on the palate. Medium towards full in terms of weight, but quite rounded texture here. With grainy tannin, well-preserved acidity. Really attractive dark fruit. The nose indicated slightly riper, more sweet jammed fruit. But there is an excellent freshness on the palate. Much more of the fresh fruit but still darker notes like blackberry, plum. Some note of ginger and white pepper on the finish. Good persistence it keeps lingering. Pretty attractive to drink now, but I suppose this will develop some more complexity over the coming years.
