France,
Beaujolais,
Red wine with a medium towards deep ruby-red colour. Discreet nose displaying some hints of butterscotch, vanilla, plum, and red fruit. Palate is on the lighter side with medium weight, good volume, with quite present grainy tannin. There’s some fine mild spices there, white pepper, ginger, and juicy red berry fruit. Still rather youthful on the palate, but enjoyable due to that fresh fruit. It’s clean, with rather crunchy red fruit. Finish is on the longer side, it’s rather persistent on the palate. There’s very discreet oak, there’s a slight hint of butterscotch in the beginning, and a slight hint of vanilla. I think it’s a well-made wine in the Burgundian style, to enjoy with lighter-style dishes. I think this is a wine I would drink rather youthful. Nice result.
