Red wine with a medium deep colour here, we have rather ruby red. It appears fairly youthful judging by the colour, might be a few years. The nose starts out quite discreetly here, at first quite spicy, I get notes here of red fruit more berry fruity style, towards Pinot Noir and Gamay. There’s a mild spiciness here, I get some sweet pepper, ginger, clove and really no oak to talk about. Elegant red fruit with all those spices. Palate is quite nice here, in this medium body; quite soft extraction with juicy red fruit, nice pepperiness on the palate followed by some more from the spice box like ginger, cardamom and some red citrus like blood orange that gives some zest, that gives a lift. I think this is well-balanced, it has a good level of drinkability now. Certainly a wine that would develop complexity and roundness from some further aging. I have absolutely no clue what this is, but I would interpret as a more Pinot-Gamay style, fresh, red berry-infused with a fine spiciness; it certainly has a good length and level of freshness, in a more cool climate style. Well-made and interesting.
