Barolo

Italy,
Piedmont,
A wine with a quite low colour intensity. It is already rusty, rather tawny. Showing some maturity or showing a lot of maturity I would say. Complex nose, definitely aged. With hints of more on the spicy, dried fruit, woody side. With some hints of cedar wood, tobacco, some sweet cherry, chocolate praline, rose petal. So very perfumed, slightly floral and complex. Good bite on the palate. It is a wine that has gotten a fair deal of maturity. It is polished and rounded on the palate. More on the dried fruity side. There is nothing harsh in there. The tannin are subtle. Plenty of spiciness going on. Spice box, with chocolate praline, a gentle smokiness and a long and complex finish. Very polished and elegant wine with perfect drinkability today.
