Austria,
Burgenland,
Still a quite youthful colour here, with a purple hue, rather deep. The nose is very intense displaying high ripeness of fruit here, with dark plum, cassis, dark cherry. There is a slight hint of roasted oak and vanilla. The palate has a quite high concentration here with a lot of spiciness. Much more spiciness on the palate than on the nose with aromatic herbs, dried herbs, white pepper with layers of that sweet dark, juicy fruit. Not so much oak to talk about and I think the extraction has a high concentration. Medium towards long finish. Quite ripe, there is a slight hint of sweetness and sugar. Certain dried fruitiness on the finish, like prune, dates and figs. Still a good effort that should gain more harmony and complexity over time.
