Hungary,
Villany,
Red wine with a medium towards intense colour, I would say the core is still dark ruby, almost black; but the rim is clearly indicating a certain evolution. Quite attractive nose here, there’s a lot of activity going on, with a mix of red and dark berries, some spicy notes, a hint of wood; but actually well assembled I would say. Palate is very much on the fuller side, with a good density of fruit. There’s also good extract, some roasted notes; oak is noticeable. It leans much more towards the Bordeaux blended direction with cassis, plum; rather in the Cabernet Merlot style. There’s a herbal spiciness, but not green, more like aromatic herbs, offering some mint and sage. Juicy and attractive fruit, still rather young tannin, but certainly with a potential for further development; well-integrated oak, and a long-lasting finish.
