France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Red wine with a deep core, a hint of ruby, with a slight hint of purple in the centre. Intense nose, quite traditional style here, some animal notes, a hint of leather; sweet, ripe, almost stewed fruit, with a lot of spiciness going on. Palate is a bit more restrained than the nose indicates, but still has a youthful tannic grip, high level of tannin. Ripe but still youthful, the fruit is quite attractive, with crushed berry notes and plum. Youthful acidity as well, with a good volume, quite dense core, and medium-long finish. A wine that I certainly would like to round off that tannic bite for another short period of aging. Charming wine in a quite traditional style, with some of those animal, leathery, and spicy notes on the finish.
