Jean Max Roger – Vieilles Vignes – 2012

Medium deep red colour with some maturity on the rim. Fine nose with good intensity and some development showing elegant red fruit notes, raspberry, cherry with ginger, clove and tobacco notes. Medium weight on the palate with high flavour intensity, fresh red fruit, a rather youthful tannic texture and fresh acidity, some mature notes on the finish, finely spicy and grippy with good length. An approaching complexity, could still however improve and soften from further ageing.
