Switzerland,
Valais,
Red wine with a colour that has evolved slightly, medium-deep ruby with a tawnier rim. Quite elegant nose, a little bit shy at first, but revealing rather discreet notes of sweet red berries, mild spices, and a gentle hint of wood. Nicely rounded palate, quite silky, more what I would call a Burgundian texture with opulent red fruit. Not too heavy in any way but just nicely rounded, juicy, with a well-preserved acidity. There’s a slight hint from the wood on the palate, some roasted notes, fine spices. Very elegant; I really like that juicy supple finish there, well-integrated oak, silky tannins, refined and attractive, inviting in this silky red fruity gently spicy Burgundian style. Very good.
