France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Very intense and deep colour here. It looks like it is losing some colour on the rim, but the core is still really purple-black. Ripe nose. Pure with an emphasis on fruit. Very ripe fruit here like dark plum, almost like a prune, date, figs, cassis and some aromatic herbs. A touch of wild herbs in there. Really no noticeable oak. High concentration here. Still with a tannic presence here. Juicy dark fruit, like cassis and plum. Still with a well-maintained freshness I would say. A slightly tannic impression, it still appearing rather youthful. Dense concentration. It is a long finish. This is a wine that certainly has good quality potential. In terms of tannin, I would still like to keep it for a few more years in the cellar or give it a really thorough decantation and enjoy it with something meaty, protein rich and it should do the job well.
