Italy,
Tuscany,
Red wine with a developed colour, nothing blue or purple left, rather on the dense ruby core with a rusty rim. Very attractive nose here, showing great purity of fruit; but far from pure in that style, it’s a wine that has got quite a goodlevel of complexity from extended oak aging for sure. We have quite sweet fruit here; I get tobacco like Cuban cigar, dark cherry, sweet plum, fine spices; and also that floral touch, like rose petal. Very attractive actually. The oak is not very present; I talk about aging in oak, but the oak in itself is not really present. Very good grip; I think this is a wine that really nicely combines that density of fruit, juicy sweet red fruit with plum, with cherry, with fine spices. We also have a good deal of extract here, giving weight and lift on the palate; but really really grainy tannins, once again I will talk about chocolate powder tannin, cocoa powder. It certainly has a long finish. Very ambitious and refined in terms of texture and maturity today. Very very long finish, good level of complexity, juicy attractive red fruit; a powerful style, well-rounded and refined. I think it’s a very complete wine, that I’d happily drink. Can I order a T-bone steak please?
