France,
Champagne,
Medium deep colour here, medium deep straw colour, still with a youthful mousse, but quite fine bubbles. It starts out quiet discreetly on the nose; with notes of pear, green apple, citrus. Still not really with a complexity from long ageing on the lees. It has some nice fine tones of fresh butter and almond. Slight hint of minerality; brings my mind more towards Chardonnay in terms of style. I like the palate here, bone dry. A bit more depth and maturity on the palate then I got on the nose. Nice creaminess, quite persistent flavours here, good gripe and zest all along. In terms of structure I think this is mid-weight. I think it is made in a more precise and refined style. Good length and purity. I would happily drink this today more at the beginning of a meal or as an aperitif, but I certainly think it has a good future potential.
