Quite a deep colour here, medium deep golden. Still youthful in terms of the mousse. Very intense nose, very expressive here with a high degree of ripeness here. Plenty of yellow fruit; like mango, pineapple, sweet plum, saffron and some spicy notes. I clearly get the notion of a lot of Pinot, but there is also the plum and red berries coming there. Almost a hint of nougat or nutty notes. On the palate it is a really full body style here. We talk about a high degree of ripeness, there is also oak involved. A hint of oak, but I think the oak is well integrated, but it still is a very warm, ripe, powerful style. A good integration of the mousse, but I think this high ripeness of fruit is well balanced by the acidity and the freshness. Quite toned down in terms of the dosage, not appearing sweet, but just the natural ripeness of the fruit. Quite rich and powerful on the mid-palate, it keeps going on like, the finish as well. It has a good length, it is really an assertive and broad shouldered Champagne for those that like that really, really, rich character.
