Red wine with a developed colour, rather light ruby core, and tawny towards the rim, indicating a certain evolution. Pure nose, it’s far from youthful and fruity, it has some evolution there with rather dried fruit character, dried berries, dried cherries, some leather, some cedar wood and tobacco. Very classic style, far from pure and fruit-driven. Quite distinct bite on the palate, it’s nicely austere, firm, with really marked tannins and extract. It has good volume. The fruit is more on that dry fruity side; some oak is noticeable, it’s quite ripe, with well-embedded alcohol. Long and lingering finish. Despite the evolution here, I think there’s some complexity but for its style it’s a wine that would still benefit from some extended aging; so I would put this back in my cellar, and I think it would evolve quite nicely and drink really well within the coming 2-3 years.
