Inky core and a purple hue. Ripe and pure nose with notes of blackberry, cassis, kirsch, some smoky notes and liquorice. Very full palate, the texture of a sweet wine but remaining dry, layers of ripe dark berries, spicy liquorice notes, integrated wood and mild tannin. Opulent and ripe but nicely restrained by a fine freshness and polished tannin. Long and lingering finish, well done.
