Italy,
Aosta Valley,
Medium deep straw colour. Very good brightness. Fine nose here. More in the direction of Chardonnay, but I should say, more in the direction of Burgundy. It is a quite restrained style with just a gentle hint of fresh butter, very discreet oak. Elegant yellow fruit, with ripe citrus, hazelnut. Really good bite on the palate. Quite full-bodied for a white wine. I like the concentration because it has a good density of fruit. Fresh acidity. There is a certain presence of extract as well. Well-balanced with a sense of bitterness, some zesty lemony notes. Well-integrated wood. The finish is quite long with a good sensation of brightness and freshness. Drinks well now but it is certainly a style of white that should continue to develop in the coming four to six years.
