France,
Languedoc Roussillon,
Youthful appearance, really blue-purple nuance, quite high density. It is showing its youth on the nose as well. Primary fruit, almost like freshly fermented wine with some violet, dark fruity notes of plum, dark cherry, with a mild spiciness. Good bite on the palate, quite full-bodied I would say. Dense fruit and good tannic presence as well. Ripe tannin, still rather youthful. We clearly feel them, but there is nothing harsh or angular. Well preserved acidity as well, giving a lift to that ripe purple dark fruit, I would say. Really juicy notes of blackberry, with some clove and pepper. More spiciness going on, on the finish some garni and wild herbs, with anise seed. Pretty long lasting, so good potential here. I thoroughly enjoy it already today. I would give it a slight decantation but it does have the structure to go on for easily five, six or seven more years. Good.
