Côteaux Varois en Provence

France,
Provence,
Quite pale colour intensity, green hue, medium deep straw colour. Generous and intense nose here. We have a presence of roasted oak, with a quite bold fruitiness. I would mention, stone fruits, ripe pear. Also some floral components. A hint of roasted almond. A slight herbal spiciness, but ripe herbs and something green in the direction of lime zest. Good bite on the palate. I think this wine is nicely combining a quite bold and ripe fruitiness. Nicely underlined by that roasted oak. There is a bright freshness, giving the palate a lift. Good length as well. This is still very youthful and the slight oakiness we have on the palate should easily integrate within the coming years or so. This is a white wine that will continue to develop complexity from further ageing. Even though this is quite tasty already at this young stage. Interesting example with southern, warmth and richness to it. Still nicely restrained due to that freshness and fine oak treatment.
