Intense dark purple colour. Smoky and oaky nose with really ripe dark fruit, kirsch, plum liqueur and black fruit. The palate has a high concentration, the flavours are slightly dominated by wood at present, some butterscotch and jammed plum flavours with a firm tannic backbone, a touch of alcohol on the finish. Big and assertive, needing time to soften but ambitious and structured.
