Italy,
Campania,
Medium intense colour. It is starting to lose some of that youthful blue-purple. It is still a quite dense core. Intense nose as well. Good purity. Very nice fruit here. High ripeness of fruit with slight exotic spiciness, there is some liquorice and wild herbs. No indication of oak but beautiful dark cherry fruit and dark berries. Really good grip on the palate. High density of fruit and high extract. It is not an extracted style I would say. It is rather a grape variety which has all of those tannins. I think they are finely integrated already. Particularly with food it should really do the job nicely. So lots of layers with juicy dark fruit, with black cherry and cassis. Almost an exotic spiciness there with dried spices, some wild herbs. Well-balanced acidity as well. Really long and lingering on the finish. A wine that certainly has the potential to go on for eight to ten years, maybe more depending on the style you like. I find it pretty attractive today but it would be nice to see how it would tastes in a few years.
