Chile,
Elqui Valley,
White wine with a certain colour, slightly light golden. Very intense nose, quite mineral I would say. It is shows some stony aromas, almost a hint of flint, smoke, even if there is not really any oak in here. Clear and reminiscent of my favourite variety, the Riesling. In a slightly different style, but I like the intensity of this one. A lot of lemon and lime zest, some tropical fruit notes, but in combination of those stony and mineral notes. The palate is really bone-dry. Crisp, with a refreshing mouth-watering acidity. I think aromatically it had a bit more development already showing some of those smoky almost petrol flavours. The palate indicates more youth, so there is a good gripe and freshness. It is a lighter style, but with a good flavour intensity. Combining the yellow fruit, with lemon lime zest and a quite long finish. So a very interesting wine and a nice result.
